The five most common setup mistakes we fix

1. No multi-factor authentication. The single most important security control. Without MFA, one phished password hands a criminal your entire mailbox — and your customer list.
2. Everything in one person's OneDrive. Company files belong in SharePoint or shared libraries. When files live in a departed employee's personal OneDrive, businesses lose access to their own documents.
3. Assuming Microsoft backs it up. Microsoft's built-in retention is limited. Deleted or ransomware-encrypted data can be gone for good without a separate backup of your 365 data.
4. Wrong licence tiers. Many businesses pay for premium licences some staff don't need — or miss security features they've already paid for and never enabled.
5. Old protocols left enabled. Legacy sign-in methods bypass MFA and are a favourite door for attackers. They should be switched off.
